In aid of the Birmingham Children’s Hospital Cleft Palette Team
A member of the Choir has a grandson. Eddie, who was born with a cleft palette, but because of the remarkable work and care of the ‘Birmingham Children’s Hospital Cleft Team’, he has undergone a remarkable facial transformation. The team included surgeons, nurses and therapists from a variety of disciplines. Eddie will require ongoing treatment.
In recognition of their life-changing skill and expertise, and out of gratitude, Eddie’s father John, has already undertaken two sponsored Iron Man Triathlon challenges involving a 2.4 miles swim in open water, followed by a 112mile cycle ride that concluded with running a marathon to raise funds for the ‘Cleft Team’ in gratitude for all that they have achieved with Eddie. Meanwhile John has had his own battle to fight with a form of cancer.
At the wish of its members, the Choir are giving their services to raise more funds for the work of this remarkable charity that has done so much for the grandson of one of its members.
